PURPOSE OF JOB: Current KCPS students will have an opportunity to complete a comprehensive internship with the School Leadership team, providing administrative support with department projects. Interns will also provide assistance with district summer school programming.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide administrative support for School Leadership team
- Develop and create Word documents and Excel spreadsheets
- Support building administrators at summer school sites with a variety of tasks to be determined
- Other duties as assigned by School Leadership
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Current KCPS student, returning for Fall 2021
Satisfactory attendance record
In good academic standing in all courses
Available for full internship experience (35 hours per week between June 15 – July 23)

WHAT YOU’LL DO
Our Lead Teachers provide a developmentally appropriate educational environment in a full-day pre-K classroom.
Lead Teachers:
• Build positive relationships with students, staff and parents.
• Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
• Implement the Creative Curriculum and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Complete a variety of assessments for each child three times per school year. Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, school policy, and administrative regulation.
• Participate in the discussion of special needs of individual children with teaching staff supervisors, specialists, and parents. Provide necessary documentation.
• Conduct all required parent/teacher conferences and home visits. Solicit parents’ assistance; explain and promote parent involvement through participation and activities.
• Actively participate in regular professional development activities, both internal and external. Take part in a collaborative professional team environment, working with other teachers and administrators to develop, implement, and refine instructional practices.
• Prepare and help maintain licensing and accreditation requirements.
• Maintain accurate attendance and meal records. Practice family style serving (eat meals with children)

The Director of School Leadership is the primary academic leader for our schools, responsible for providing executive and administrative leadership to the academic leadership team and a dedicated, talented team of teachers ranging from K-8th grade. This person will be a visionary instructional leader who will create an engaging, joyful, academically rigorous learning
environment built on CWC’s Learning model. The Director of School Leadership, working with the Executive Director, will continue to build an impactful academic leadership team and culture that drives student performance to meet charter goals. This position is accountable for
building a strong team and maintaining an exceptional school culture. This culture will challenge and motivate students, teachers, and families to achieve academic excellence, develop as people, embrace the rich diversity of the school community, and positively impact the communities in which they live.
The primary expectations of this position are as follows:
- Owning continued implementation of CWC Kansas City’s academic vision across all grade levels and content areas. This includes evaluation and adjustment of curriculum, model-aligned instruction, and academic staffing structure as required.
- Driving academic success with a focus on growth and achievement for every student at CWC Kansas City and focused, consistent effort to reduce gaps in performance that exist among any identifiable student groups.
- Implementing top-level data analysis systems and professional development operations to ensure CWC Kansas City utilizes evidence-based instructional strategies.
- Supporting CWC Kansas City’s Student Support philosophy to eliminate exclusionary discipline and install a trauma-informed, restorative philosophy to support student behavior needs.
- Working alongside school leadership to promote and uphold anti-racist policies in the CWC Kansas City school community.

Director of Communications
