Part of that work includes celebrating ALL LATINX EDUCATION PROFESSIONALS. This year, we will be honoring Latinx education professionals who are nominated by a peer and have demonstrated a commitment to one or more of the following LEC core values 

COMMUNITY: Nominee fosters collaboration to build vibrant communities where students feel supported.

AUTHENTICITY: Nominee shares, shows, and embraces their full humanity.

PERSONAL GROWTH: Nominee seeks and participates in culturally competent professional and leadership development opportunities to improve their craft.

IMPACT: Nominee supports their students in improving their educational outcomes and bettering themselves.

INTEGRITY: Nominee demonstrates the ability to listen and learn from others while hold space for their ideas and beliefs.

  • Educator of the Year
     – Must serve in an educator role (teacher, paraprofessional, instruction coach, etc.)
  • Administrator of the Year – Must serve in an administrator role (assistant principal, principal, superintendent, etc.)
  • Future Educator of the Year – Must be a college student pursuing a career in education
  • Aspiring Educator of the Year – Must be a high school student interested in becoming an educator
  • School Volunteer of the Year – Must be in a volunteer position supporting a school or district (PTA, school board member, afterschool club leader, etc.)

Nominations are due by Friday, November 19, 2021, at 5 p.m. CT.


Award winners will be honored on Tuesday, December 14, 2021.
