Provide sexual violence prevention and education programming to the community and provide
crisis intervention services for survivors of sexual assault and abuse.
a. Facilitate sexual abuse and assault prevention and education programs to youth and adult community members.
b. Inform victims of sexual violence of their rights and services available to them.
c. Perform outreach and relationship building activities through contact with community partners.
d. Give presentations and facilitate small group sessions for youth and adult community members.
e. Assist with volunteer recruitment and supervision during program activities.
f. Represent MOCSA at community events and meetings.
g. Assist with program development, evaluation, data collection, and grant reporting.
II. Crisis Intervention
a. Provide crisis intervention, support, and referrals to callers to the 24-Hour Crisis Line during business hours and after hours when on-call.
b. Provide hospital, police, and court advocacy to adolescent and adult victims of sexual assault and/or rape during business hours and afterhours when on-call.
c. Serve as staff-on-call managing the operation of the crisis line and victim advocacy response after regular business hours on occasion throughout the year; and supervise volunteers while on-call.
The responsibilities described represent the primary responsibilities of the job. Other responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor as warranted by business needs. The incumbent is expected to do all assigned responsibilities.
The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in public health, social work, or related field or five years of equivalent work experience in community education and/or outreach. Demonstrated skills and experience in public speaking.
Previous training in sexual abuse or sexual assault. Experience in crisis intervention, working with youth, community building, or outreach/networking skills. Experience with curriculum development, social media/marketing, or audio-visual technology. Fluency in Spanish.

This is a full-time position; business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Frequent travel throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area to perform education and crisis intervention services.
