PURPOSE OF JOB: Teachers sheltered content (Social Studies) to ELL students by performing the following dusties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONDIBILITIES:
Instructs students bylecturing, demonstrating, using audiovisual aids, and other materials to supplement presentations.
Adapts content and modifies assignments to accommodate students’language proficiency level.
Prepares course objectives and outlines for course of study following curriculum guidlelines or requirements of state and school.
Assigns lessons and corrects homework.
Keeps attenance records.
Maintains discipline in classroom.
Confirs with parents to discuss student’s progress and concerns,
Participates in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Assist students with adjustment and academic problems.
Demostrated experience and/or training with current techniques and skills to teach English Learners at the middle school level and literacy profiency.
Experience teaching in an urban setting with refugees and immigrants.
Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education from a U.S. four year college or university
Missouri certification in subjct area (Social Studies) and ESOL certification.
