All readers welcome! Learn from and explore themes of education, representation, and Latinx students in the book “Learning from Latino Teachers” by Gilda L. Ochoa. The study is “BYO book” and readers will independently read selected chapters before our meeting each week. Together, we’ll discuss one section of 4-5 chapters via Zoom conferencing. Our schedule includes:

  • June 1: “Background” Chapters 1-3
  • June 8: “Family & School” Chapters 4-6
  • June 15: “Improving Outcomes for Latino/a Students” Chapters 7-9
  • June 22: Conclusion & Discussion with the Author, Gilda L. Ochoa

Copies of “Learning from Latino Teachers” are available where most books are sold for an affordable price. This book study will culminate with the book’s author: Gilda L. Ochoa, joining us for our final discussion! We are excited to build community and knowledge together with you.
